Rain Shield's O2 Rainwear Cycling Series Style 1111
"Rain Shield's O2 Rainwear Cycling Series isn't a flashy jacket with features like 'zipper garages.' It doesn't even name its products, going instead by utiliatrian numbers. And to paraphrase Henry Ford, you can pick any color you like, as long as it's yellow. But the bottom line is this: The stuff works. Our five-ounce test jacket repelled wind and rain, stuffed small enough for a jersey pocket and was cut well, with a drop tail, for riding. But affordability has a price: The sealed seams were scratch on skin; owner Adam Ziskin freely admits the #1111 isn't the most durable in the world; and our medium test jacket was big on our tester's 5'9, 145lb frame, so try before you buy. Affordable, visible and waterproof, Rain Shield's O2 Rainwear Cycling Series is your pal in a pinch"

Rainy Day Gear
Carrying a full-function rain jacket can be a hassle, especially when late spring weather conditions are iffy. The solution for those will-it-or-won't-it-rain days is Rain Shield O2 gear, made of microporous film, is lightweight, waterproof, breathable and affordable. The texture of the Rain Shield O2 gear is more skin-friendly than vinyl or plas-tic, and the jackets and pants store neatly in a small stuff sack. We tried the 5-ounce O2 cycling jacket ($29.95) in heavy downpours, a steady drizzle and locker room showers-all without fault. We could not make it leak. Rain Shield also makes multiuse pants and jacket sets, bib-pants and training jackets.

Rain Shield’s Jacket
The O2 Cross-Training Jacket isn’t a full-featured running jacket – it doesn’t have pockets, vents, or reflective strips, and it only comes in one color (yellow) – but it will get you through a wet, cold, windy run comfortably. Made with microporous film, this lightweight shell is both waterproof and highly breathable. It weighs 4.5 ounces, compresses easily into a hip pack, and comes at a price that’s tough to beat.

Dodge the Rain, the Bugs and Your Thirst - But Not the Birds
By Judy Dash
Sports playing and watching - on the road or at home -will get a boost from the following new products. Items may be available in area stores. Prices do not include shipping. Let it rain: Truly waterproof rain pants and jackets usually feel heavy and clammy, particularly in warm weather or while you're engaged in sports. New O2 Rainwear from Rain Shield is so light and airy, it's difficult to believe it can defy a heavy downpour. But it can - I pitted it against a torrential shower, and got neither wet nor sweaty. According to the manufacturer, the secret is a new microporous film, that is waterproof and breathable. The fabric feels like a soft, slightly rubberized rip-proof paper towel (you can see the pores dotting the fabric). A yellow hooded, zippered rain jacket and pull-on pants, including a stuff-sack, weigh a mere 11 ounces. Hooded rain suit with stuff-sack (model 1090) is $47.95. Specially contoured cycling jacket is $31.95. For purchasing information, contact Rain Shield: 888-543-1894; www.rainshield.com.
